Dr. Steven Powell, PhD founded Oak View Psychological Services to serve families around the Triangle with various mental and behavioral health needs.

Dr. Powell's education includes the following:

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in School Psychology from Oklahoma State University (2021)

• Educational Specialist (EdS) in School Psychology from James Madison University (2017)

• Master of Arts (MA) in Psychology from James Madison University (2015)

• Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Hood College (2014)

Dr. Powell is a licensed Psychologist in North Carolina and holds a Health Services Provider - Psychologist (HSP-P) from the North Carolina Psychology Board. He is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral (BCBA-D) and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).

 

Dr. Powell has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults with various behavioral and mental health needs for over a decade. He has worked in K-12 public and private schools, clinics, universities, and residential settings. Dr. Powell has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of childhood behavioral and academic problems and developmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability.
